The Great Northern Room on Level One of the Ellerslie Stand is a fantastic room available for hire for up to 350 guests.

The room is named after Australasia's longest horse race - the 6400 metre-long Rodd & Gunn Great Northern Steeplechase - which is held at Ellerslie each September.

From the room you can see the infamous Ellerslie Hill, which forms part of the Rodd & Gunn Grand National steeplechase course, and which jockeys and horses must climb a staggering three times.

With the ability for complete blackout, this room is ideal for seminars, AGMs and conferences - or any event where professional presentations are required.

The Great Northern Room also has private bar facilities, so is a great option for breakfasts, luncheons and dinners - or pre-dinner drinks before a function in the Newmarket Room just down the escalators.
